Clinton Weyand, Psy. D


30 Years Experience Working in Behavioral Healthcare

Dr. Weyand studied Community Clinical Psychology at the baccalaureate and graduate level at California State University at Northridge where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He proceeded in the study of Counseling Psychology at the Doctorate level at Calvary University and the University of Southern California (USC).

Dr. Clinton Weyand has over 30 years experience working in behavioral healthcare. He began his career in Psychology at Woodview Calabasas Psychiatric Hospital where he served as the Assistant Administrator, and as the Director of Community Services. He then proceeded to serve as the Director of the Adult Unit at Van Nuys Psychiatric Hospital for over ten (10) years where he worked with a variety of patients ranging from troubled adolescents to celebrity clients. He has also worked with eating-disorder patients and supported a project assisting the indigent of Los Angeles in matters related to Mental Health.

Dr. Weyand is currently the Director of Education & Research at Malibu Horizon Treatment Center where he works with dual-disorder clients. Dr. Weyand is a creativity coach and uses journal writing, bibliotherapy, and poetry therapy specifically designed for his clients. He is also active in the Addiction Studies program at Pierce College .

Dr. Weyand is the President of Being Books, Inc., a book-publishing forum specializing in inspirational, self-help, and academic publications. Dr. Weyand has a private professional psychology library of nearly 100,000 academic and rare volumes, and he works with a variety of academics and professionals supporting their research.
