I believe the key to helping clients achieve a higher level of satisfaction in life is by identifying thought and behavior patterns that are creating problems, uncovering personal strengths, and utilizing those strengths to bring about desired changes.
My area of focus is working with adolescents, teens and adults struggling with depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, relationship issues, and adjustment to life transitions. I work with individuals, couples and families.
In addition to my work at the Circle of Life Center, I provide school-based counseling in local middle schools and high schools, helping adolescents and teens address issues of low self-esteem, stress and anxiety, lack of academic motivation, bullying, peer pressure, anger management, family problems, and social skills training.
Having had personal experience with infertility, I have a passion for working with those struggling in this area. Under the guidance of Sara Rector, MFT, I lead support groups and perform psychological evaluations for ovum, sperm and embryo donors and recipients, as well as surrogates.
I have a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from California Lutheran University, and am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
