Kathy Kumme, M.A., M.F.T. is an established Marriage, Family Therapist with a 24 year private practice in Woodland Hills and Thousand Oaks.  She is also a professional artist, having taught painting and drawing before going back to school to become a therapist.  The psychotherapy she practices addresses all aspects of the client’s Being: mind, body, emotions, and soul.

One focus of her private practice is  exploring the individual’s unique creative expression and their spirituality, in order to help them become more whole and integrated at all levels of their being.  She combines depth psychotherapy techniques with art and guided imagery to help the client transform life’s difficult transitions and challenges into turning points for growth and change.

Throughout the years, Kathy has also had a great deal of experience and success working with mood and anxiety disorders, depression, and abuse.  She has taught several series of classes on mental illness to mental health professionals.  These classes are sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
