Alicia's approach involves the caring application of methods and strategies that have been well-supported through research.

She received her Master’s in Counseling Psychology in 2004 from California Lutheran University. She interned as a behavioral consultant working with the handicapped population and at an in-patient Adolescent Drug Treatment Program providing therapy for adolescents and their parents. She has worked with individual adults, teens, children and families.

As an interactive, solution-focused therapist, her treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients address current life challenges and long-standing issues. With compassion and understanding, she helps individuals find sensible resolution to a wide range of personal concerns and psychological issues. With an integration of complimentary approaches, she can draw from a variety of methodologies and techniques to incorporate what is most helpful for each individual. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, she can offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of her clients individual needs to help them attain the personal growth that they are striving towards. Together with each client, she will work to develop strengths and achieve goals.

Alicia is currently pursuing her PhD in psychology at Saybrook University in San Francisco. In addition she works as a therapist for naval base Port Hueneme treating veterans and children.

Alicia has been working with children and adolescents using play therapy and art therapy. Alicia has experience working with the parents of her clients, involving the family in order to bring about change for the child. This work evolves often into parenting and couples' issues, particularly when the child is manifesting symptoms the family system has produced such as depression, anxiety and poor school performance. Her present work with children and adolescence always has a family component.
